This was such a fun trip, lets start with that! So, for my birthday this year, my mom, her friend, her friends mom, and I all went on a cruise across some US islands. First we flew to Miami, where we stayed for a few days with friends and family, I vividly remember eating the most delicious meal I've ever had in my LIFE, can't remember the places name since a friend took us there, but it was SO GOOD.
We then got on the cruise, and immediately went to get some free milkshakes, also I'll be the first to admit I drank like 2 milkshakes per day minimum. We explored the ship, and I had to resolve an issue with my room key. And that's when I met the hottest man LOL i'll talk about that later.
Our first stop was the Bahamas!! Perfect Day at CocoCay, it really was perfect, the sand was smooth and cold, the water was cold (which I like), the sun was sunning, it was amazing. I found a little spot distanced from other people, and took a nice nap under the shade of a tree. Saw a dance show at night, that was interesting...
Next day we stayed at the ship, I woke up early cause they were giving away bags to the first 200 people who got to a talk, hung out with a group of older ladies, and got the bag! Also I made it my mission to collect the bell charms for a keychain, which i had to collect everyday to get them all. ALSO the guy I mentioned before stopped me while I was walking and we talked, he recommended some places to go for my birthay, asked me for my ig, and told me I was beautiful! LIKEEE THAT WAS CRAZY.
On my birthday we stopped at Puerto Rico! We walked around town, which looked a lot like Casco Viejo, like identical, we went to a beautiful beach, and then went to eat some mofongo. It was not that good. Demasiado plátano, muy poquita salsa, además el plátano estaba como seco, maybe si fuera el de chicharrón hubiera sabido mejor. That night we went to one of the restaurants at the cruise, and the food was not that good really, the buffet food was way better lol.
Next day we went to Saint Thomas, one of the most beautiful beaches I´ve ever been to by far. I met the nicest lady, who told me she was worried because she retired recently, her son moved away, and she wanted to travel the world but felt a little guilty about it I guess. I told her she deserved the rest after so many years of working and taking care of her family!
We connected, talked about astrology and how we got along so well because we were compatible, she told me she could tell I had a beautiful soul, and I told her she was like a beam of light, such a beautiful person! It was really one of my favorite experiences, such a refreshing interaction.
That night was fun also, we went to see the Vegas Tenors, such an amazing show!! Then it was 70's night, there was a show and we danced so much! After that we went to eat and walk, and then went to see a pianist. I asked if he could play Hey Jude, and wrote down it was my birthday, first he and everyone there sang happy birthday to me, and then we all sang Hey Jude together, it really was such a beautiful moment, I'll cherish it forever, one of my favorite birthday memories.
Next day was okay, we went to the pool, tanned, ate a LOT, like A LOT, then we went to the "club", it was uneventfull to say the least. Cultural differences I guess. Then the next day I FOUND A DAMN DUCK. There's like this game on cruises where people hide rubber ducks, and everyone was looking everywhere for them. Well one little shit threw one at me, and he thought I would give it back. I didn't.
That was the last day on the cruise, I won't go into details about the guy, we talked a few times on the cruise, exchanged numbers, it was a fun summer crush lol. He was way older than me tho, and too pushy, wanted to talk to me 24/7. That why I look don't touch. We then did some last minute shopping on our last day in Miami when we got back, ALSO HAD THE BEST BURRITO, and then flew back home. :(
Overall I'm so gratefull for the experience, we had the best time, and it was such a fun way to celebrate one more year of life. I remember being so stressed in the moment because I didn't have WIFI and had a lot of work, but then I said fuck it, gonna enjoy my vacation. Looking back, it was honestly kind of life changing, I met so many beautiful people, felt so loved from strangers, specially during a time where I was feeling so lonely, it made me see life a little differently.
